It’s time that we had a serious talk. The source of my distress? Pesticides, herbicides and all the other icky -icides and chemicals that make their way onto our plates from the grocery store from industrial farming. Organic foods are part of a movement near and dear to my heart, so this week, we’re continuing our focus on prevention by shifting our gaze to the ground—right to the roots of a problem that we all face every time we eat. Let’s dig in and demystify what’s behind the price tags, politics and progress of organic foods and how it affects our health, our environment, our wallets and our rights.

Why does one want a worm farm? This was the question I asked when I first heard that this was a step in my Edible Garden series, and the answer is a goodie. Having your very own worm farm means that you’ll be able to make your own natural and organic fertilisers to really super-charge the quality of garden. Plus, it means that you can recycle your food scraps (worms LOVE juicer scraps, for example) and lighten the load you’re dumping into landfill. Win, win, win.

Every time I look at the poster above, a sensation rushes through me that’s a combination of excitement, nerves, adrenaline and overwhelming gratitude. A tour! A book! The chance to meet all of you incredible people! This is so surreal, yet it all feels so right. Kind of like my whole journey has been leading me to this very moment. And while the part of me that used to vomit at the thought of standing up in front of a crowd has been trying with all of its might to come back to life, it’s been squashed by the fact that none of this is about me (it’s all about delivering a message) plus the fact that it’s all going to be So Much Fun.

I first met Belle Gibson when she attended our Self Love & Sisterhood event in Melbourne earlier this year and was immediately enchanted by her story. Here was this bubbly, ambitious, enthusiastic wellness sister chatting to us about creating her app, The Whole Pantry, who also happened to be harbouring a tumour in her brain. Far from allowing her health challenges to make a victim out of her, Belle also inspires people around the globe (with almost 100K) followers on Instagram) to get creative in the kitchen and be kind to their bodies.

When they are not travelling the United States teaching workshops designed to facilitate people’s growth and awareness around heath, abundance and conscious relationships with people, money and the world, they are on the farm tending the animals and land.
